About Downtown Ferry Terminal

Auckland's Downtown Ferry Terminal is the central hub for the city's ferry network. Located at 99 Quay Street on the Waitemata Harbour waterfront, it sits next to Britomart Train Station and the historic Ferry Building (built 1912).

The modern terminal building has piers numbered 1 through 14, though not all are in regular use. The heritage Ferry Building, with its distinctive clock tower, contains shops and cafes on the lower level. The actual ferry departure piers are in the separate modern terminal building to the east.

Address: 99 Quay Street, Auckland CBD 1010
Operators: Auckland Transport (most routes), Fullers360 (Waiheke, Rangitoto), Island Direct (Waiheke)

Getting to the terminal

  • Bus: Britomart Transport Centre has dozens of bus routes. The terminal is also on the CityLink and InnerLink bus loops.
  • Walking: 10 minutes from Queen Street via Quay Street. The waterfront promenade connects to Viaduct Harbour and Wynyard Quarter.
