About this page

This page shows live ferry status from Auckland Transport's real-time data feed, updated every 60 seconds. It shows individual trip cancellations and delays as they happen, which is more granular than AT's public ferry status page. If AT says "Good service" but a specific sailing is cancelled, you'll see it here first.

Waiheke Island services by Fullers360 and Island Direct may have additional disruptions not shown here. Check their websites directly for operator-specific alerts.

Ferries are most commonly disrupted by strong winds and rough seas on the Waitemata Harbour. Longer routes (Gulf Harbour, Pine Harbour, Waiheke) are more affected than shorter inner harbour crossings (Devonport, Bayswater).

Frequently asked questions

Are Auckland ferries running today?+
Check the live status board above for real-time information on all Auckland ferry routes. Status is updated every 60 seconds from Auckland Transport data. Ferries run every day except Christmas Day, with reduced Sunday timetables on public holidays.
How do I know if my ferry is cancelled?+
This page shows live cancellations and delays for all Auckland ferry routes, updated every 60 seconds. You can also check AT service announcements, the AT Mobile app, or follow @AklTransport on X. For Waiheke, also check fullers.co.nz and islanddirect.co.nz.
Why are Auckland ferries cancelled?+
Auckland ferries are most commonly cancelled due to strong winds or rough seas on the Waitemata Harbour. Mechanical issues, crew shortages, and tidal conditions can also cause cancellations. Longer routes like Gulf Harbour, Pine Harbour and Waiheke are more susceptible to weather disruptions than shorter inner harbour crossings like Devonport.
What happens if my ferry is cancelled?+
If your ferry is cancelled, your AT HOP tag or ticket is valid on the next available sailing. On frequent routes like Devonport, the next ferry is usually 15-30 minutes away. On less frequent routes, gaps can be an hour or more. You do not need to re-purchase a ticket.
Does this page show Fullers360 and Island Direct cancellations?+
This page shows status from Auckland Transport's real-time feed, which covers most ferry routes. Fullers360 and Island Direct (Waiheke operators) may have additional service disruptions not captured in the AT feed. For the most complete Waiheke status, also check Fullers360 travel alerts and Island Direct.
